Canine Behavior Foundations is a professional-level education intensive designed to build accurate behavior literacy, risk awareness, and ethical decision-making for dog trainers and advanced students. This course focuses on understanding what behavior is—and is not—so professionals can observe clearly, avoid harmful assumptions, and recognize the limits of their responsibility.
This program does not teach training techniques or behavior modification protocols. Instead, it develops the foundational thinking required before intervention is ever considered. Training Methodology & Decision-Making is a professional-level course within the Professional Dog Training Skills Intensive. Client Communication & Professional Boundaries is a professional-level educational program within the Professional Dog Training Skills Intensive.
This course focuses on the skills that determine long-term success, safety, and credibility in professional dog training: role clarity, expectation management, decision explanation, emotional containment, boundary enforcement, ethical limits, and professional integrity.
Rather than teaching behavior modification techniques, this program trains how professionals think, communicate, and hold authority when working with clients, organizations, and emotionally complex cases. Students will learn how role confusion leads to burnout, liability, and ethical drift—and how clear boundaries and communication protect dogs, clients, and the trainer.
This course is designed for professional dog trainers, trainer candidates, and individuals preparing for certification, leadership roles, or independent practice.
Professional-level instruction in handling mechanics, leash communication, spatial awareness, and risk-aware decision-making.
This intensive focuses on the handler as the primary variable in training outcomes. Students learn how movement, timing, leash pressure and release, spatial positioning, and emotional regulation directly influence behavior, safety, and escalation risk.
This program includes textbook-level reading, instructional videos, written assignments, quizzes, and a final exam. It is designed for professional dog trainers, trainer candidates, and dog professionals working under supervision.
Completion of this course does not grant independent authority to manage complex behavior cases outside one’s scope of practice.
This Professional Skills Intensive provides advanced instruction in ethical decision-making, risk awareness, scope of practice, accountability, and long-term professional responsibility in dog training.
This course is designed for professional dog trainers, advanced trainer candidates, and adjacent professionals working in risk-bearing environments. It focuses on how professionals reason, assess risk, enforce boundaries, document decisions, and operate responsibly under pressure—not on tools, techniques, or training methods.
Throughout this Intensive, students will study professional ethics as operational responsibility, learn to identify and manage risk before harm occurs, understand scope of practice and competence limits, develop defensible documentation habits, and evaluate the long-term impact of professional decisions on dogs, clients, the public, and the profession.
Course material is delivered in textbook-style written lessons supported by structured assignments, quizzes, and a final exam. This program is educational in nature and does not independently confer certification or authorize graduates to manage or modify high-risk behavior cases.
