Develop the nutritional knowledge needed to support dogs responsibly and communicate clearly with clients. Students examine nutritional requirements, commercial food options, food labels, feeding amounts, body-condition awareness, training treats, supplements, life-stage needs, performance dogs, and the relationship among nutrition, health, learning, and behavior.
The course also establishes the professional boundaries between nutritional education, trainer observation, and veterinary diagnosis or treatment.
